Leave stories

Tuberculosis and the arts are intrinsically linked. Many famous writers and artists were inspired to write about their condition, which they then knew as “consumption”. Keats, the Bronte sisters, Chekov, George Orwell and many others are a few names that spring to mind.

When I went through the experience of having MDR-TB and having to spend time in isolation and then the long subsequent treatment, I wrote about my thoughts and feelings at the time in a journal. It has proved very useful for me to look back on it to see how well I have done.

This part of the site is dedicated to story telling and your personal experience of having TB. Why not share your experience here with others? Please send your stories as an email or send a word document to me by clicking on the green button below. Stories should be no more than 1000 words long. They will be reviewed and professionally edited and then posted on this site for others to read. To see the personal stories of others experience of TB and their treatment journey, please click on the button to the left that says, “Read Stories”.
